National Display Teams

The National Display Teams are elite flight groups that are celebrated for their exceptionally precise flying skills and aerial artistry. Red Arrows, the RAF Aerobatic Team, which has been delighting audiences since its formation in 1965, performs breath taking aerial displays featuring vivid red, white, and blue smoke trails that pay homage to the British flag. Their performances are marked by striking aerobatics and intricate formations, effectively showcasing not only the remarkable skills of the pilots but also the advanced capabilities of the Hawk T1 aircraft. Frecce Tricolori, Italy's renowned aerobatic team, established in 1961, is comprised of talented pilots from the Italian Air Force who are widely recognized for their vibrant and stunning performances, as well as their well-coordinated choreography. Their name, translating to "Tricolour Arrows," emphasizes the pride in Italy's national colors. Korea Black Eagles, established in 2009, this impressive team represents South Korea, executing meticulously precise flying maneuvers in their T-50 Golden Eagles. Their performances not only celebrate the rich Korean heritage but also embody a contemporary expression of military strength and national pride.

Red Arrows

The Red Arrows comprise experienced pilots selected from frontline Royal Air Force squadrons, and their performances demonstrate not only exceptional flying skill but also the teamwork and dedication that define the ethos of the RAF.

Frecce Tricolori

The Frecce Tricolori, officially known as the 313° Gruppo Addestramento Acrobatico, is Italy's national aerobatic team. Established in 1961, they are renowned for their spectacular aerial displays, showcasing advanced flying skills and precision. The team flies the Aermacchi MB-339, a jet trainer aircraft renowned for its agility. Their signature maneuvers include intricate formations and dazzling synchronisation, often incorporating the green, white, and red of the Italian flag into their smoke trails. The Frecce Tricolori not only highlight the prowess of Italian aviation but also serve as a symbol of national pride, performing at various airshows and events across Italy and around the globe.

Seen below at the 2019 and 2022 Royal International Air Tattoo is the Frecce Tricolori, this italian display team is based at Rivolto Air Base approximately an hour outside Venice city centre in northern Italy

Black Eagles

The Korean Black Eagles display team is a renowned aerobatic squadron that showcases the impressive capabilities of the T-50 Golden Eagle aircraft. Established in 2009, they are the first aerobatic team in Korea and are known for their precision flying and intricate manoeuvres. Their performances combine artistry and athleticism, depicting the grace of flight while highlighting the skill of the pilots. With their signature black, red, and white colours, the Black Eagles mesmerise audiences with thrilling formations and high-speed displays that embody the spirit of the Republic of Korea Air Force. Each show is a testament to teamwork, discipline, and dedication, making them a celebrated feature at air shows nationally and internationally.

Royal Jordanian Falcons

Swiss PC-7 Display Team

The Swiss PC-7 Display Team is an esteemed aerobatic formation team that showcases the capabilities of the Pilatus PC-7 aircraft. Silver Swallows

Patrulla Aguila

The Patrulla Águila, Spain's prestigious military aerobatic team, is renowned for its extraordinary aerial displays and impeccable precision. Established in 1985, the team is part of the Spanish Air Force and consists of expert pilots flying the Casa C-101 Aviojet. Al Fursan

The Al Fursan Display Team is the United Arab Emirates' premier aerobatic squadron, renowned for its breathtaking performances and precision flying. Established in 2010, the team consists of skilled pilots from the UAE Air Force, showcasing their expertise in dynamic aerial displays using advanced aircraft such as the Aermacchi MB-339. Al Fursan, meaning "The Knights" in Arabic, exemplifies the spirit of the nation through their elaborate routines that blend contemporary art and traditions, often featuring the colours of the UAE flag in smoke trails. Midnight Hawks

The Midnight Hawks Display Team, part of the Finnish Air Force, showcases a breathtaking array of aerial manoeuvres and formations. Renowned for their precision flying and dynamic performances, the team operates the BAE Hawk aircraft, delivering spine-tingling displays that captivate audiences at airshows around the globe. The Midnight Hawks not only demonstrate the capabilities of their aircraft but also promote the spirit of aviation excellence and the pride of the Finnish Air Force.
